Privacy policy

1. Who is responsible for your data. The data controller is Sarah Chemla, publisher of Israel Compass. For any question about your data, write to contact@israelcompass.com.

2. Sensitive data, protected by default. Your answers to the questionnaire can reveal your political opinions, which are sensitive data. This is why they stay in your browser by default and are not sent to our servers. Sending them is always your choice.

3. Optional sharing of your answers. At the end of the test, we ask whether you agree to share an anonymous copy of your answers. If you agree, we save this copy with the language of the test and, if you provide them, your age range, whether you are a woman or a man, and your place of residence. It is not linked to your identity, your device or your account. We use it only to produce statistics on political trends. Your consent is the legal basis for this processing. If you decline, nothing is sent and you go straight to your results.

4. Account and saved results. Creating an account is optional. You can sign up with your e-mail address or with Google to retrieve your results. If you save or share your results, your answers and scores are stored on our servers with a private link, and attached to your account if you have one. This processing is necessary to provide the service you request. If you sign in with Google, Google receives the information needed for your sign-in.

5. Usage statistics. We anonymously count how many people start and finish the test, along with the language used and the last question reached. We do not record your answers for this purpose.

6. Retention. Anonymous copies of answers are deleted automatically after 12 months. Your saved results are kept until you delete them or ask us to delete your account. Answers saved in your browser stay on your device until you clear them.

7. Who can access your data. We do not sell any data and do not pass it on to third parties for commercial purposes. We use technical providers to host the site and manage sign-in. They process data only to provide this service to us.

8. Cookies. Only technical cookies needed for the site to work are used.

9. Your rights. You can request access to your data, its correction or its deletion by writing to contact@israelcompass.com. You can also contact the data protection authority in your country of residence. To delete your saved results, use your account page. To delete your account, write to us.

1. What Israel Compass is. Israel Compass is a non-commercial information and educational tool, published by Sarah Chemla. It helps you understand your own political positions and compare them with the documented positions of Israeli parties and political figures. It is not affiliated with any party, candidate or political organization.

2. No voting recommendation. Israel Compass never tells you who to vote for. The matches shown result from an automatic calculation based on your answers. They are neither advice nor a stance taken by the editorial team.

3. Where the information comes from. Positions attributed to parties and figures are documented from public sources, such as platforms, statements and votes. The source and date are shown. Polls come from four institutes that are independent of this site. To report an error, write to contact@israelcompass.com. We review every report.

4. Information that keeps changing. Electoral lists, positions and polls change until the election on October 27, 2026. We update the site regularly, but we cannot guarantee that it reflects the latest situation at every moment.

5. How you may use the site. You may use Israel Compass freely for your personal use. The site's content (texts, layout, visual identity) is protected by intellectual property law. You must not copy it or extract it by automated means in order to republish it or use it commercially without written permission.

6. Account and saved results. Creating an account is optional. You can delete your saved results at any time from your account page. How your data is handled is described in the Privacy policy.

7. Liability. Israel Compass is an indicative tool. It does not predict election results and does not replace your own research. We do our best to keep the information accurate, but we cannot guarantee that it is complete or free of errors. You remain solely responsible for your vote and for how you use your results.
